Paper Princess by Erin Watt is a Young Adult contemporary romance book about Ella, an orphan girl whose new guardian is Callum Royal. After taking her from a life of poverty, he throws her in a mansion where his five sons live; they don’t want her and don’t consider her as family, making her life worse than before.

This book was a huge mess. I can’t understand why people loved it. A 17-year-old girl can’t possibly be mistaken for a woman of thirty and more years, no matter what. She can’t be a stripper if she’s prude. It’s not coherent. Plus, falling for a boy who treated you badly is definitely not healthy.

The writing style was good, but I didn’t enjoy the book and give it 2 out of 5 stars.

About the author

Erin Watt is the brainchild of two bestselling authors linked together through their love of great books and an addiction to writing. They share one creative imagination. Their greatest love (after their families and pets, of course)? Coming up with fun–and sometimes crazy–ideas. Their greatest fear? Breaking up.

The Funeral Flower by Michelle Jester is a Young Adult contemporary romance book. The story starts when the protagonist, Kelly, is six years old; her grandfather has recently died and she is desperate for this. But a fateful encounter with another kid of the near house helps her to overcome her grief.

I didn’t like the book. It was confusing for the most part and some things were left unexplained. The writing style is fine but the plot lacked huge chunks and I didn’t enjoy the book. I give it 1 out of 5 stars.
